Inspired by the symbolic beauty of Native American silver hair adornments, the MOON BRAID SHIELDS are designed as protective forms for braided hair objects that exist between ornament and ritual.

Each piece is individually hand-drawn by Dila and then hammered and shaped by hand by a metalsmith in Istanbul. The shields are finished with a 1000 micron silver plating, giving them a luminous, enduring surface. No two are exactly alike; each bears the quiet marks of the hand and the individuality of its making.

The hand-drawn motifs are inspired by the Baron Venus world of symbols:
the sun and stars, representing life and energy;
the shell, a sign of life and hope;
the flaming heart, symbolizing love and gratitude;
the house, for love and protection;
the rainbow, for connection;
the rose, for beauty;
the sword, for strength and courage;
and the snake, for rebirth and renewal.

Each shield is designed with small openings, allowing the wearer to personalize it with ribbons, pearls, or threads transforming it into a unique expression of style and meaning.

ABOUT COLLECTION

The collection is offered in two sizes.
The large shields are designed for a horsetail hairstyle or for the beginning of a braid, where the form can anchor and frame the hair.
The small shields are made for the tips of braids, or alternatively for children, allowing the gesture of adornment to be shared across generations.
Worn in the hair, Moon Braid Shields recall ancient traditions of metalwork and personal adornment where jewelry was not only decorative, but symbolic. They are contemporary talismans shaped by memory, craft, and movement, created to travel with the body and become part of everyday ritual.

HOW TO LOVE

Avoid contact with water, perfume, hairspray, and chemicals. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping.
Silver may naturally darken over time. To restore its luminous finish, gently wipe with a silver polishing cloth.
Store in a dry place, preferably in its pouch or box.
